As part of this, we invite you to take part in a private salon, presentation, and film screening on Marine Conservation, featuring Robert Suntay, President & Founder of the Philippines’ SEA-VIP Institute, and hosted by Analisa Leonor Balares, CEO & Chief Innovation Officer of Womensphere, and William Robalino, Managing Director at ASCENDO.

Robert Suntay is President and Founder of the SEA-VIP Institute, a foundation that uses Science, Education, and Advocacy programs to preserve the marine biodiversity in the Verde Island Passage in the Philippines. The Verde Island Passage is known as “the center of the center of marine biodiversity in the world” (the world’s center of marine biodiversity being a triangle in Southeast Asia, with its central part in the Philippines).

A Harvard alum and a lifelong educator, Robert served as high school principal of Xavier School, co-founder of Beacon School and Beacon Academy, Assistant Professor and Executive Director at Ateneo de Manila University, and as a Teaching Fellow and Advisory Board Member at Harvard University Graduate School of Education.

Robert has spent nearly his entire life underwater – either snorkeling, free diving, and scuba diving both professionally and for recreation. He regularly gives talks on marine conservation awareness and is an international award-winning underwater videographer. His work has been shown worldwide, and has been featured on the National Geographic Channel. He is also a member of various organization boards including: WWF (Philippines), the Network of Underwater Digital Imagers (NUDI), and Studio H2O.

Analisa Leonor Balares is Founder, CEO, and Chief Innovation Officer of Womensphere, a global platform for empowering women and girls to use STEAM, leadership, and innovation to create the future, and to help achieve the Global Goals for Sustainable Development. Analisa curates the Womensphere Summits & Festivals, and leads building the Womensphere Innovation Leadership Lab, Womensphere Incubator Network, and Womensphere Foundation. Previously, Analisa worked in Wall Street for Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, and Milestone Capital, and in technology and social media for Microsoft and 85 Broads (now Ellevate). She is an alumna of Harvard Business School, Mount Holyoke College, and Lester Pearson United World College.

Analisa is also a NASA Datanaut, and one of the Partners-Organizers of the NASA Space Apps Global Challenge for New York City. She serves as a Commissioner of the Women’s Refugee Commission, Advisory Board Member of Music Beyond, Member of Women’s Forum of New York and International Women’s Forum, and Academy Member of the Global Teacher Prize. She also served as a Member of the Harvard Women’s Leadership Board, and L'Oreal's global advisory board for sustainability and social impact.

Analisa has been recognized as a UBS Global Visionary, Young Global Leader (by the World Economic Forum), and 100 Most Influential Filipinas of the World (by FWN). She has been honored with the Madam C.J. Walker Leadership Award by US National Minority Business Council, and Distinguished Leader Award by UN Women New York Chapter.

William Robalino is Managing Director of Business Development at ASCENDO New York, joining the firm in 2018. Prior to ASCENDO, Mr. Robalino served at Prudential and held a wide range of executive roles including CFO in Global Markets at Bank of New York Mellon, and Liquid Markets Controller in the Americas at UBS. In 2000, he returned to Lehman Brothers in the United States, after leading Lehman’s Liquid Market Product Control Functions: Interest Rate Swaps & Options, Japanese Governments & Financing, Foreign Exchange and Futures in Tokyo, Japan.

Mr. Robalino is on the advisory board of Selective Corporate Internship Program (SCIP), Latinas in Business, Latino Networks Coalition and Womensphere. He is an executive sponsor and mentor of Sponsors for Education Opportunity (SEO). Mr. Robalino is an executive member of the National Association of Black Accountants (NABA), and he served on their Corporate Advisory Board. He was President of the Association of Latino Professionals for America (ALPFA) New York from 2011 to 2015.
